Hi I’m Jules,
Welcome to my Substack. I’ve written my blog for beginner bakers.
If you’ve purchased one of my fresh sourdough starters, move the starter to a larger jar and store in the fridge. Keep it there between feeding and baking. The cold fridge slows the fermentation process and keeps it fresh.
Your starter can be stored in the fridge without feeding for several weeks. However, to keep your starter happy and healthy for years to come, I recommend feeding it every 7-10 days if you aren’t baking regularly.
To learn more about feeding, see Feeding your starter and Preparing your starter for baking. If you’re ready to bake, check out my Lazy Bakers same day recipe.
If you didn’t purchase one of my starters, welcome! I hope my instructions help you along your sourdough baking journey.
Happy baking, Jules.
